The little Guys Room Reveal

I am back to share with you J's finished room! I am so re-leaved to have him sleeping in his own bed again, I finally get to enjoy my sleep without having to worry about getting kicked in the face.

Just a reminder of some of the damage....

Water damage

Rotten studs and mould

His room now....

The circled spots are where most of the water damage was visible...The flooring looks great!!
This is the new wall.

It took 7 months to get the condo corp. to fix this mess! I really hope I never have to deal with this kind of issue again.

I am Still Here!

Sorry I have not posted anything for awhile, I am still here. The past two weeks have been CRAZY busy, I have had no time for anything but work and taking care of my little guy.

I have spent every single free hour I have had (pretty much anytime I wasn't at work) working on 3D renderings for a client.

About two weeks ago Britt came to me and told me she had a client she was designing advertisement booklets for and he was looking for some 3D renderings to put in them. The client is building an apartment building for student housing and wanted some renderings of what the apartments would look like so the students could visualize the space.

This is the finalized renderings of the 5 bedroom apartment.

Living room
This is the kitchen and bathroom from the 2,3 and 4 bedroom apartments.

So this is the reason why I haven't been able to post something for you.

In other news my little guy's room is complete! I finished it yesterday and he is now sleeping in his bed again...Hooray!!

I have some pictures to show you of the finished room....I WILL be back again soon to reveal them!

Christmas DIY Wreath

This past week at work was really slow, so my manager and I decided to pull out the Christmas decorations too see what we had and what we could do. There was a tone of stuff!! We will probably spend the next week decorating the store.

I love Christmas decorating, I don't have a lot of d├ęcor at home to decorate with so I am taking full advantage of being creative at work!

On Friday I put a bunch of different items together to make a Christmas wreath, I found a plan old twig wreath in the storage room, so I spray painted it white. Then I came across some white mesh in the pile of "stuff" and wrapped it around the wreath, which kind of gave it a soft snowy look.

Next I took some fuzzy branch-like pieces (kind of like pipe cleaners) and added them to the wreath, along with some snowflake ornaments that are full of glitter.

I then picked through the different kinds of ornament bulbs that I wanted to place on the wreath. I choose a white, silver and blue theme for the wreath and all different sizes of bulbs. (I used a  hot glue gun to glue it all together).

This is what the finished wreath looks like....

Hanging on the wall...

Now I just wish I could bring it home! (I was full of glitter when I finished!)

Do you like decorating for Christmas? Do you have any favourite Christmas DIY crafts you like to make?

Kitchen Cabinets

Yet another project I have started and not completed!

It has taken sometime to complete the new kitchen doors, first my Papa helped me out with cutting some, but unfortunately I ran into some problems with them..... So my dad helped me out with cutting some new ones, this is the main reason why it has taken so long, trying to get my dad to squeeze me into his busy schedule. ( the doors my papa cut will not go to waist though, I am thinking headboard!)

The kitchen is not complete yet (first post here) but, I am hoping to get a lot of work done over the next week.

A couple of Sunday's ago, I spent the day out at my dads helping him finish up the cabinet doors. I think He has more saws then he needs.....And he just makes reasons to use each one of them.

Saw 1
Cutting the pieces of wood down.
Saw 2
Cutting the doors to size.
Saw 3
This saw is for rounding the edges of the doors.
Yes, he has many, many saws and not just these three.....but I guess three was enough to finish the job!
Now I have nice new looking cabinet I have to...Sand....Prime...Paint...& install.

Drill press to cut the holes for the hinges.
My brand new doors.....not quite done yet!

Hopefully I will have a big reveal of the kitchen before Christmas.

The Little Guys Bedroom

J's room is not totally finished yet, just a few more small things need to be completed. The mould and rotting studs have been all fixed, new drywall has been installed and painted, the flooring has been refinished and the ceiling has been fixed (see other posts here, here and here).....

 What's left you ask?

Well I am waiting for them to come and put new baseboards on and  trim around the windows, yes this is what is holding me back. J won't sleep in his room without window coverings and I can't hang them up till the trim is on the window because the blinds get attached to the trim.....So yes, I am waiting for this small little thing to be complete to move Jax back in.

I forgot to mention to you that the painter wouldn't fix my stripes, so I told him NOT to paint over them and to just leave them the way they are........So I had to fix them myself.

It didn't take that long to fix them, its just that I didn't have the time to do it so it was a little inconvenient but, in the end I am glad I fixed it because now I know it is done right. Thankfully the paint blended wonderfully, you couldn't even see where I touched up. I used Benjamin Moore, Natura, it is definitely a good paint.

You can also see a little sneak peek of the flooring refinished in the pictures above. I will reveal the whole room when I have all of J's stuff moved back in and put away.

Snyders Family Farm

The pumpkin patch has become a tradition for J and I ever since he was born, Britt has also joined us on our tradition, for 2 out of the 3 years we have been going. Every year in October we take a trip to Snyders Family Farm just outside of Kitchener. They have tones of activities for the kids and a large pumpkin patch where you can pick your own pumpkins.

Saturday we took our yearly trip, we tried last weekend but it was rainy and cold. We made a good choice and decided to wait for a nicer day, and that was Saturday! It was a little chilly but no rain. Here are a few photos of the previous years we went and this year.

J's first trip to the pumpkin patch- 4 months old.

1 year old.

2 years old.

This year - 3 years old.

Check out some more pictures on Britt's post (here).

P.S. Sorry for the lack of posts this week, I was working a lot and I was fighting a nasty cold. I will have more posts this week, including updates from unfinished projects.
