Mini Bathroom Reno #2

I have all my pictures for my bathroom reveal! You may remember I did a mini Reno to it awhile back....I thought I was done but, I decided to do more to it to improve its look.

These are the before pictures....

After mini Reno....
Goodbye ugly counter, black floor and stainless steel.

After mine Reno #2....
Good bye pink and green!!!

I decided to paint the pink and green tile (I'm not to sure why I didn't do it sooner!). It turned out great! Once I decided I wanted to paint it I  tried to think of ways I could cover up the shower area because you can't paint were the water hits the wall....It will just wash the paint away. Then it popped into my mind...a tub surround...PERFECT! So off I went to The Home Depot and found a simple 5 piece tub surround that could be glued over tile..... All my problems were solved! and it was only $100.

I was still a little worried about painting the tile in the bathroom because of the humidity so to get the paint to stick to the tile I knew I had to sand it but, it wasn't really working... More just polishing. So I skipped the sanding part and used a primer that is called Stix (it is suppose to stick to anything). Next I used a product called Perma-White (which is mould and mildew resistant, great for a bathroom) this product is also self priming so I knew it would be durable. I allowed for the proper dry times and kept the bathroom free from humidity for about 7 day while the paint cured.

The paint is standing up great in the bathroom on the tile so far, we just have to make sure it doesn't get to steamy that the walls start to sweat (you need a good strong fan).  The colour I used is Benjamin Moore's classic gray (oc-23).

Get Inspired Colour

Sorry I have been MIA again. I am just about ready to reveal my kitchen (I promise it is coming soon!).

In the mean time I have another great photo to share! I took it at work of the paint in the can after being dispensed. I like how this one created a veining effect as the paint spread. I played with the second one a little in Photo shop, I think the effect makes the veining stand out more. It would look great on a large canvas but, I can't decide which one I like better, which one do you like? (other colours- 1,2)

Playing Catch-up

I know....I have been MIA for all of March and part of April...Between work, chores, J, C, Fixing up the house and working  two weekends in a row with Britt at the Toronto Wine and Cheese and Hamilton Food and Drink in March.....I have had no time to spare. I wish there was more time in a day so I could get everything done!

To get you up to speed with everything that has happened throughout March here is a sneak peek of everything.....

Look how big Dakota is getting!!!

5 Months old

I painted my living room accent wall! Here is the before....

Before
I picked this colour when we moved in, when I got it made it turned out to be the wrong colour. We have been living with it since....I wasn't very fond of it and C hated it.... Now it is a colour we both like and I think it looks great! The colour is... Benjamin Moore Black Pepper 2130-40.

After- Sorry the picture isn't the greatest quality.
We started to pull the carpet off the basement stairs. It is a very hard task the staples are so hard to get out and there is so many of them! I have blisters on my hands from doing it so we decided to do a couple stairs per day, now we only have 4 left to do.

I finally went out and bought new handles for the kitchen cabinets! The final reveal will be coming soon.

Sorry again about the bad picture.
C and his dad put up the trim in the house two weekends ago!! I am so happy that it is finally done.

We have a few more things throughout the house we have completed and a few more things we have added to our list. I will start to reveal room by room instead of adding it to this already long post.

One last big thing that happened on March 26..... C and I had our one year wedding anniversary! I can't believe how fast this past year went!
